Alonso Ancira makes the first payment of $ 50 million to repair the damage from Agronitrogenados, El Siglo de Torreón

In accordance with the agreement signed by a judge, Altos Hornos de México, SAB de CV (AHMSA), complied this Tuesday with the first payment corresponding to the repair agreement signed in April 2021 with Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX).

The steel company Monclova on behalf of Alonso Ancira Elizondo, Chairman of the Board of AHMSA, made the first payment of $ 50 million, claimed damages for the sale of the Agronitrogenados plant, in Veracruz, to Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).

Ancira Elizondo and the steelmaker still claim that there was no damage from the sale of the agrochemical plant.

Through a statement, AHMSA reported that the first payment of the agreement was completed and confirmed that it will continue to work on strategic options to improve its operations and strengthen its liquidity and finances.

He noted that “given the favorable conditions prevailing in the world steel market,” a progressive normalization of the operations of the largest integrated steel company in Latin America has been allowed, “For the benefit of its employees, shareholders, customers and suppliers.”

AHMSA, in the center of Coahuila and with investments in the Carboniferous Region and the deserts of Chihuahua and Coahuila, generates about 20,000 jobs and is an important economic engine for Coahuila and Mexico.
