At least 15 people, including a young woman, were shot dead in a crowded bar in Minnesota on Sunday morning, according to the local police department.
Officers arrived at St. Paul’s Bar around 12:15 a.m. Sunday and found a “hellish situation,” the department said in a statement.
“In an instant, they found themselves in a hellish situation,” said St. Paul Police Chief Todd Extel.
A statement issued Sunday morning said preliminary information from the scene indicated that several shooters were present. No arrests have been made.
According to the St. Paul Police Department, a 20-year-old woman was pronounced dead, and 14 other gun victims, who were taken to local hospitals by medical staff, are expected to be alive.
“My heart goes out to the woman who was killed, her loved ones and everyone else who was at the bar this morning,” Axel said.
