Biden seems to read instructions from the teleprompter

President Joe Biden appeared to have a “Ron Burgundy” moment on Tuesday while reading a talk on gas prices from a teleprompter.

Biden was compared to the fictional newscaster from the movie “Anchorman” when he recited the words “end of quote” after referring to a statement from Walmart’s CEO.

“And by the way, you may have heard the CEO of Walmart yesterday about the steps we have taken. He said, and I quote, ‘The combination of private company and government working together has been really successful,'” Biden said in the speech.

“He went on to say, ‘All the way through the supply chain, there’s … a lot of innovation. Due to the measures we have taken, things have started to change. No more quotes. “

The President then moved on to the next sentence.

Faux pas got a comic reaction on social media where fans of the slapstick news comedy made the comparison. The character, played by Will Ferrell, is notorious for recites every word on the teleprompter exactly what it looks like.

“Biden goes full Ron Burgundy with the teleprompter. 🤣” wrote user D Simms.

Other scornfully called Biden “President Ron Burgundy.”

But some thought that the “anchorman” routine suited the commander-in-chief well.

“I do not see the problem with Ron Burgundy being president,” wrote a person.

The possible error seemed to provoke another communication outage in August when Biden’s microphone was turned off after a reporter asked a question about Americans stranded in Afghanistan.

Under another press conference in March, Biden spoke at an event in the House Democratic Caucus when the microphone was cut off immediately after the president told reporters he was “happy to answer questions.”
