Cardiff City 2022/23 Championship fixtures in full swing at home of Bluebirds Norwich City

Cardiff City will begin their 2022/23 Championship season against Norwich City, who suffered relegation from the Premier League last season.

The Bluebirds will be hoping to produce a better campaign than last year and are ready to strengthen their squad to ensure that they don’t start off as sluggish as the previous stint. This would be Steve Morrison’s first full season in charge of Cardiff and he would start by welcoming the Canaries, a club he played for during his career.

The first away trip is a short trip from the M4 to Reading on 6 August, with West Brom and Severnside rivals Bristol City away on other days in the first month of the season. The first derby of the campaign is the clash with Robbins, which will take place at Ashton Gate on Saturday 20 August.

The first South Meczyki Derby is on 22 October, when they will take on Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium. The reverse fixture will not happen until April 1, 2023.

Because of the World Cup, there has been a slight change in the season this year. The final game before the mid-season break is against Sheffield United at home on 12 November, before returning for an away trip to Stoke City on 10 December.

City fans will enjoy another home match on Boxing Day, hosting Queens Park Rangers ahead of a midweek trip to Coventry City on December 29 this year. On New Year’s Day, the Bluebirds face an age-old journey north, where they will go toe-to-toe in their first fixture of 2023 with Blackburn Rovers.

Here are the championship fixtures for the Bluebirds’ next term, excluding changes for TV scheduling purposes.
