Cl Camp 2022

A note to your diary if you have little football players at home…. Na Gayle’s camp will be held tomorrow 4-8 July.

U14 Girls

Tough for the U14 girls as they lost to Abedorn last week. Hopefully they will have better luck tomorrow, Monday, when they host Listowel Emmets.

U9 Boys

Our Under 9s headed to Listowel last Sunday morning and enjoyed a wonderful morning of football. We fielded 3 teams and the boys played very well in all their matches. Thank you Listovell for hosting us and we look forward to his arrival before the end of the season.

u11 boys

Last Thursday night some great football was played by both the Under 11 teams with scintillating performances against Kerrins O’Rahills. The Younger Group played great football at times. There are still some things they can brush up on, like marking but it is next year when they will benefit from playing together and getting used to each other. Special mention to William, Harry and Jimmy, who took turns scoring goals. Also would like to thank all the parents for taking the pictures and bringing the flags and targets. Thank you all.

U13 Boys (White Team)

The Na Gayle White team played Legion last Sunday evening and it was a very tough competition with every score hard to beat. Na Gayle got off to a great start with two opening points and was unlucky not to follow it up with a goal. Legion responded well with two points of their own and then netted a goal. Legion had some great movement and got some early goals to make a decent lead. Our boys fought and got some great points and scored a goal and went down to 7 points at halftime. In the second half, Gayle won the throw and scored a brilliant point. It was full momentum for the second half with both teams showing determination and work rate. Na Gayle’s defense tried really hard to try to cut short an impressive Legion forward line and prided itself on it. The midfield and forward were also excellent and made some great scores and created tons of opportunities. Our goalkeeper was very good and showed great hands with solid catches and some great saves. The final score was Na Gayle 3-11 and Legion 5-18.

U13 Boys (Green Team)

Gail Green’s team took on Miltown/Castlemen in foggy conditions. Na Gayle started with the help of wind. Andy Costello and Eoin Hannon got off to a good start. As Na Gayle pinned the hosts, Jonathan Sheahy opened his left boot to rocket a goal. Aaron O’Donovan and Ethan Doyle hit Na Gayle from 1-10 to 1-2 with a touch of magic at half time. The second half was always going to be a different game and the hosts really went ahead. Despite a heroic defense from Ruad O’Brien, Fionn Collins and Eoin Behan M’Town C’Man put up the pressure and the score was level with 4 minutes to go. With the hosts all in motion, Ben O’Sullivan set the crucial score in motion via two fine saves and an excellent kickout. Jake Barrett won the kick-out, passing the ball to right winger Ioghan Daly, who found O’Donovan who ended the ball over the net to the delight of traveling support. This prompted Na Gayle’s men to end the game with two more points. Philip Doyle anchored the team from center back, while Luca Cronin and James Kelly worked tirelessly at the half-forward line. Kieran Feely and Rory John O’Brien were always a threat. Best wishes to all the players and thank you to the parents for their continued support. final score; Na Gail 2-14 Miltown Castlemine 2-9. crew; Ben O’Sullivan; Eoin Behan, Fionn Collins, Ruad O’Brien; Ethan Doyle, Philip Doyle, Jake Barrett; Andy Costello, Aaron O’Donovan; Luca Cronin, James Kelly, Eoghan Daly, Kieran Feely, Eoin Hannon, Jonathan Sheehy; Rory John O’Brien

U7 Hurling

With about 30 players in attendance it was a very busy training session for Trolley Parnells on the final Friday evening of 7am. With buzz in the air for their upcoming match against Crotta on Monday evening, the youngster is certainly eager to show his supporters the benefits of the hard work they put into training. Congratulations to this week’s Player of the Week, Tomas Kelleher, well done Tomas.

u8 camogee

U8 had a great training session at Caherslee as there was a great display of skill by all the girls. This week the coaches added an obstacle course that proved to be a huge hit. Every girl gave her 100 percent in the training session. This week Player of the Week is Clara Kate O’Connor, Clara Kate is doing well.

Our U9s played Crotta at Caherslee on Tuesday evening. It was great to see so many people playing and enjoying themselves. Good to all the boys who put up a great show of skill and effort.

U12 camogee

Congratulations to the U12 Amber team, which played a highly competitive league game against Cillard on Monday night in Caherslee. It was a nail biting game which was very exciting. All the training and exercises were very clear. Well done to all the players.

U14 Camouflage

Brilliant effort by the Ember team against visiting team Baliduff in Round 2 of the U14 County League. We fought hard from the start, won some great deliveries and kept the ball moving, putting pressure on the visitors. They were a strong side but we can be proud that we worked hard as a team and managed to keep up the pressure. Onward and up to the next round!

The U15 boys will leave the trolley on Friday afternoon as they head to Royal County for the FEEL final. The venue has been moved to the St Patrick’s GAA club in Stamulin. Group matches will take place on Saturday morning. We hope that more and more friends and supporters of the club can come together to support the boys for this group of players and for the club on this momentous day. Everyone at the club wishes all the boys and Brian and his management team all the best over the next weekend. Parnells Abu! Remember, the GoFundMe page supporting the cost of sending Meath to the team for the weekend is still active. Anyone who wishes to show their support can do so:

It was another busy week for the members of the club representing our county. Carey did well for the U14 Academy squad, which won over Wicklow and Laos over the weekend at O’Moore Park, Laos. Parnells was represented by manager Brian Sargent and players Kyle Benson, Christian Kennedy, Luke Hanafine and David Sargent.

The Carey U15 hurlers were also in action and scored a comprehensive victory at Westmeath in Laos. Parnells was represented by Sean Harris, Eoghan Costello, William Somers, Dan Maloney, Thomas O’Donnell and Jack Canty. Our U14 Camogi players were also busy in the form of Anna O’Sullivan, Eimear Dillon, Jessica Lynn, Orla Costello, Kaolin Kallu, Anna Chute and more. Georgia Kennedy lined up for Carey in the Munster Development Blitz against Cork, Waterford and Tipperary. The Blitz took place at the WIT Sports Arena over the weekend.

The Tralee Parnells Hurling & Camogie Club would like to extend our sincere sympathy to Geer O’Connell, the Treasurer of the Club, on the recent passing of his uncle Canon Moss O’Connell. Ar Des De Go Raibh Ek Anam Dilis.
