MADRID – A 14-year-old Spanish rider was killed in a motorcycle race in Spain on Sunday after being hit by another rider, organizers said.
Hugo Milne Motorland ended up in the middle of the track in the second lap of the European Talent Cup race at the Oregon Circuit.
Although some riders managed to avoid the meeting as he tried to get out of the turn and get out of the way, organizers say Oleg Pavlik, riding the No. 5 motorcycle, hit him straight.
Milan, which started at number two, remained motionless on the ground as the other riders passed. He had already avoided a few turns but eventually lost control and slipped to second position.
Paulick was not seriously injured and left the track on his own.
Doctors took him to the hospital for several minutes before the ambulance took him to Track Hospital. He was later airlifted to another hospital.
Organizers FIMCEV Repsol said on Twitter, “We are saddened to learn that Hugo Milne died of his injuries after an accident in the HETC race.
Six-time MotoGP champion Mark Marquez was among the top riders who reacted to Milne’s death.
“RIP, Hugo Milne,” Marquez said on Twitter. “My sincere condolences to his family, friends and team.”
