On November 25, it is 15 years since Valentín Elizalde “El Gallo de Oro” died, who was murdered by an armed group, after a presentation at Expo-Feria Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
It was at dawn, around 3:30 in the morning, when a command belonging to the drug gang Los Zetas blocked the road to the black suburb where he traveled, in addition to the singer, his representative Mario Mendoza, the driver Raymundo Ballesteros and his cousin to the singer Tano Elizalde.
He was 27 when Valentín died immediately, after several shots with powerful weapons, AK-47, AR-15 and .38 super, with the exception of Tano, who was only wounded.
He was known as the “Golden Rooster” because of his father Everardo Elizalde, who also devoted himself to music. His father formed at the beginning of his career a duet with Manuel López which they named “El Dueto de Hermosillo” in 1978, later they changed their name to “Los Dos Gallos”.
After some success, he decided to start a solo scene where he was known as Lalo, “El Gallo Grande” and where he recorded 37 albums and participated in two films, one by the producer Emilio “El Indio” Fernández called “México norte” .
But as if a curse followed the family, it was also in November when Valentin was 13 years old that his father lost his life at the age of 52 after suffering a car accident on the road after bidding on a concert in Villa Juárez, Sonora.
At the age of 19, Valentin released his first studio album entitled “Amor que muere” and until his death he released 11 albums from which major hits were released such as “Go with him”, “How it hurts”, “El sinaloense”, ” Go now “,” The most wanted “,” And it looks like you “,” Nothing “,” Drunk with love “,” The deer “,” I am like this “,” I will love again “,” The potatoes “,” Heart of gold “,” Vencedor “,” The beach “,” Domestic wolf “, among others.
In social networks, fans of Valentin Elizalde do not forget it.
Although he died young and his career was fleeting because his life was taken away from him, the singer’s left heart marked the thousands of people who remember him every year. His family tries to keep his memory alive, especially his brothers “El flaco” and Joel continue to give concerts and record albums and pay tribute to his songs.
