Lex Luger was full of praise for AEW’s Paul Wight and other wrestling legends such as Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and others because he put him as one of the best baby faces already during the Third World War, almost 25 years ago.
WCW World War 3 testified to a 60-man royal battle. The last four members were Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Paul Wight along with Lex Luger. The first three were together as heels and tried to thread on Luger. The nWo trio sold excellently for Luger in the past Paul wight eliminated The Total Package for the win.
Lex Luger took to Twitter and thanked Heels for helping him come across the audience as a baby face by selling perfectly.
“Wow !! Talk about a baby face feed by a group of top heels !! They really wanted me Great props for @RealKevinNash @TheRealXPac @PaulWight Scott Hall” – Lex Luger tweeted.
They say that a hero is only as good as the villain he meets. Fortunately for Lex Luger, some of the best heels this industry has ever seen were involved with him at the time. The New World Order ran hard over the WCW list, and everyone who stood up against them was automatically elevated to the status of one of the best baby faces in the company.
Lex Luger and AEW’s Sting were a big part of WCW
Lex Luger was a big part of WCW programming at a time when wrestling as an industry was entering its most explosive era.
During his run as a baby face, he teamed up with the current AEW star Sting and lifted the WCW World Tag Team Championship. The couple later had a one-on-one feud.
Lex Luger retired in 2006 and has not been seen in a wrestling ring again, as he is physically unable now. However, it is quite possible that we will see him make some kind of appearance again, whether it is AEW or WWE.
