One dies in a traffic accident near Torreón airport, El Siglo de Torreón

A man lost his life in a traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday morning a few meters from the entrance to Francisco Sarabia International Airport in the city of Torreón.

Facts were noted around 10:45 a.m. this Tuesday on Juan Pablo II Road, near the Juan Agustín Espinoza road, in front of the facilities of a gas company.

The deceased man was identified as Ernesto Rodríguez Espinoza, 43 years old.

He boarded a Honda truck, of the CRV line, silver, of the newer model.

The first expert reports indicated that the unit was moving on the Juan Pablo II road and when it left a curve, it hit the metal base on a footbridge and ended up glued to the perimeter fence of the airport.

Witnesses to the incidents immediately made a corresponding report to the state’s 911 emergency system.

Elements from the airport fire brigade were the first to participate in the report and proceeded to remove the man from the interior of the vehicle.


Ambulance staff from the Red Cross checked the person and confirmed that he no longer had vital signs.

The elements from the Torreón Fire Brigade, the Green Cross and the Minister of Health of the Government of the State of Coahuila also came to provide support in the emergency.

Representative of the municipal public safety and traffic and road directorate, they cordoned off the area until the expert services arrived.

Members of the Coahuila Civil Police (PCC) were responsible for preparing the corresponding report on the accident.

The investigating agent for the public ministry, assigned to the murder area at the public prosecutor’s office, found out about the death.

The body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Agency’s premises for forensic autopsy.

It is expected that the remains will be delivered to their relatives within the next few hours for the corresponding funeral services.
