Swansea City transfer news future as Tottenham’s Troy Parrott opens up on ‘unexpected’ Swan star link-up

Here are the headlines from the City of Swansea, Sunday, June 19

Unsure about parrot future

Tottenham star Troy Parrott says he will try to impress boss Antonio Conte during the pre-season, admitting he is unsure what his future holds currently.

Parrot has emerged as a target for Swansea this summer after a successful loan stint with MK Dons last season. Russell Martin continued his recruiting plan with the signing of Harry Darling from his former club on Saturday, closing a much-needed addition to a problem area for Swansea last season.

An attacker would also be on the head coach’s list, with Parrot saying he would kneel down and see what happens.

“I can’t control what’s going on there,” They said, “It’s out of my hands. All I can do is try to impress whoever is out there and that’s absolutely what I intend to do when I get back there for pre-season.”

“I’m not sure what the future holds. I kept trying to play well for Ireland and I got some messages from people saying ‘well done’. It’s always good to score a goal in a big match like Scotland , especially in Aviva. It was my first competitor too. The most important thing is getting in the right areas to score goals.

“It’s better than standing on the edge of the box waiting for things to fall. It’s about getting there to see what happens.”

Parrott also spoke with Michael Obafemi of Swansea about his relationship with the national team. The pair were well linked in Scotland’s 3-0 clash earlier this month, and their understanding may well indicate a deal for the Spurs man becomes a reality.

He said, “It was the first time we were playing on the same pitch. In the U21 game against Italy in 2019, Michael came after I left. Last week was like we played together several times. The runs I scored for Made to see him and the execution of the pass was lovely.

“I didn’t have to do much to assist him. I just held the ball for him and he did the rest. We felt happy on the pitch and we looked out for each other all the time, in and out. As for the front two, we pressed really well.

“I didn’t know much about him growing up because he’s a little bit older than me. I saw him when he was in Southampton. Michael is a great player and clicking with him was kind of unexpected because we never got along Play.

Darling reveals ambitions

New signing Harry Darling says he can’t wait to meet his new teammates at their training camp at Pennyhill Park next week, adding that he aims to bring Swansea as high up the table as possible.

Darling’s signing is a big puzzle for Martin, who has already signed the 22-year-old twice. With a ball-playing centre-back high up the priority list this summer, the defender was likely to be an all-new mainstay next season.

“Pennyhill would really be the perfect start,” he said. “We’re going away for a week, so this will be a great opportunity to meet everyone and settle in. I’m sure fish [Andy Fisher] Will help with that.

“I wanted to do the deal early so that I can do a full pre-season with the team. I can adjust to the team and prepare us well for the start of the season. Personally, for me, I I want to do as best I can, perform as best I can, help the team in any way I can, win games and get us on the table.”

Join the Terriers Sorinola Race

Swansea City’s championship rivals Huddersfield Town are reportedly interested in signing Swans target Matthew Sorinola.

Norwich City are also understood to be in the running for the 21-year-old, who currently plays his football in Belgium with Union Saint-Guillois. Celtic have also been credited with interest in the exciting wing-back.

Although, football league world has now reported that the Terriers, fresh from their play-off final loss to Nottingham Forest, are interested in Sorinola as they seek to build a team capable of going into another next stint.

But Belgian sources have indicated Sorinola could remain in the Jupiler Pro League next season. Union boss Felice Mazzo is reportedly set to take over the reins of league rivals Anderlecht, Vincent Kompany has moved to the UK to take over Burnley, and there is already a suggestion he may be tempted to take Sorriola with him .
