On the occasion of International White Cane Day, which will be celebrated on October 15, the municipal government, through the Directorate of Human Development and Education, will give a speech on visual impairment and its types.

In this talk, Professor Celine Mendoza, who specializes in the subject, will talk about the two types of visual impairments that exist: blindness and low vision; It will explain the characteristics of each one, what are their differences and the steps required to join the people who suffer from any of them.
It should be noted that the International Day of White Cane seeks to raise awareness about blindness or low vision, to make society more sensitive to those who suffer from it and to contribute to its integration.
The day is named after the use of the white cane as a symbol around the world, to identify people with certain visual impairments.
