The rural pub, located 90 minutes from Birmingham, was named the best in the UK.

Looking to go out on a Sunday afternoon? What about the travels and lunches of Cutts Wolds in a 16th century pub with its own sun terrace overlooking the rolling hills and lush English countryside?

The Frogmill, at Shepton Olive, near Cheltenham, offers a ‘fine British, family-style’ roast dinner and hosts Summer Sun Downer sessions with live music from 4pm to sunset on selected Sundays. You can dine in the cozy Cotswold rock pub or relax in the scenic gardens.

It has just been named the UK’s Best Pub at the 2022 National Pub and Bar Awards. And it’s less than an hour and a half’s drive from Birmingham.

The kitchen has American smokers for signature grill dishes using Spanish jasper coal-fired ovens and local produce. Visit here for 35 day old steak, wagio burgers, halomi fries and whole flattened cornice place.

There is also a large vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free menu. And the roasts include roasted potatoes with duck fat and maple glazed rainbow root vegetables.

Built by Brexpier in 2016 and reopened in 2018 after a significant investment, the pub includes traditional bars, restaurants, boutique bedrooms and function venues.

The National Pub and Bar Awards brought together 94 pubs and bars from across the UK, each with the title of best in their county. Of these, 15 regional winners were selected before The Frogmel was crowned National Champion.

The judges praised The Frogmel for its flawless operation, attention to detail and genuine hospitality. Find out more and book. Here

“I’m completely overwhelmed,” said Simon Stanbrook, general manager of The Frogmel. “This award is for the team – from our housekeeping to the kitchens and the events in front of the home teams, they work hard all day long. We work together as a family.

“We keep an eye on the details and want to warmly welcome our visitors. It’s part of the Honeycomb Houses mantra – treat your team like family, treat your guests like friends and treat homes like homes.” We welcome people as you would in your own home.

You can find The Frogmal at Shipton Olaf, Anders Ford, GL54 4HT.
