Wolverhampton Jewelers who spent five months without an order are now earning £ 13.5ka a month

A woman whose business waited five months for her first order is now earning £ 13,500 a month. Tisha Prothi, 21, of Wolverhampton, started her own handmade jewelry business during the lockdown.

She makes personalized rings, necklaces and rings in her bedroom. Tisha originally waited five months – or 20 weeks – for a single order – but demand for her product grew rapidly.

Although he has not spent a penny on advertising, his business, Chikaag, receives 600 orders a month. Her success was due to the fact that she went viral on TikTok.

The young entrepreneur aims to become a number six business – and plans to pursue a full-time job in September with a university degree. He said: “I always thought of running my own business, so I decided to do it.

“For the first five months, I paid £ 200 for my initial stock and then no order. I was under a lot of pressure, thinking I had made a mistake and wasted my time and money.

“When my videos started going viral, I got a lot of followers who turned into users. All of a sudden I was getting a lot of orders, it was amazing.

“Anyone who wants to take a risk in starting a business, I would say. If you want to do this, work hard and you will get what you want.”

Tisha decided to start her own business in 2020 and ordered a 200 stock from Amazon to allow her to make personalized bracelets and necklaces. His place at the university was postponed and he decided to take a year off to grow his business.

Using YouTube videos, he learned how to engrave pictures and letters, beginning with stamps and hammers to draw shapes on jewelry. But she feared that she had made a mistake and had not received a single order for five months.

“In those five months, I didn’t get anything. I was under a lot of pressure,” he said. He chose to pay for marketing in favor of brand promotion on TikTok and Instagram – and soon after his videos went viral, he saw a flood of sales.

Her shop now offers handmade jewelry and accessories for less than 20. Now, Tisha’s account – chikaag_bebright1 – has 76,000 followers on TikTok and a total of 4,000,000 likes.

It has just completed its best business month – receiving over ,500 13,500 and over 600 orders in May. The businesswoman bought an engraving machine when the business started, but she runs a Chikaag from her bedroom in her family home.

He said: “Honestly, it’s hard to make them all! I’m getting about 12 orders a day and I’m spending seven hours creating, packaging and shipping orders.”

She has raised her eyebrows – and after a two-year delay, finally plans to go to university this year. Tesha will be studying Information Management for Business at UCL from September, which she plans to do while running her own business.

But she has no plans to show up, and she shows real business acumen because she admits she wants to make Chikaag into a six-figure business. He said: “I think I will hire an accountant soon – I want to go further.

“When I complete my degree, I want to try to open a physical store. I don’t know how to do it, but I will do it.”

Looking back at how much he has progressed, he said: “I’m really proud to have taken the risk.
